[Completing both: Find that thief and Polar Bear Attack]
Letony clinched his forehead between his palms; rubbing off the day’s frustration. He grimaced slighted as he quickly pulled the white hood of his flak over his short silver hair; displacing the palm used earlier for a new task. He glared through the endless snow that was Yukigakure through his brown eyes. They were intent on his surrounds. Letony’s thoughts transpired in fractions of seconds; deducing his next course of action. After hooding himself, he proceeded to a small notebook in his pocket. He removed the notebook and quickly glanced through the pages; skimming them. The notebook quickly retreated to his pocket and he was now in mission mode. There were a few small tasks that a man of his skill could execute swiftly. He would save the more challenging tasks toward the finish. His book read:
Letony stood in the doorway of the wooden cabin where calamity struck. From this position; there were three steps just below where he was standing. Behind Letony the cabin rest empty and void of life. In other words; drained. He creates hand seals the moment he pockets the book; forming three specific seals for a Konowari special. After completing the last seal; Letony was capable of simply walking forward from where he stood. He did this; seemingly walking on the air at the expense of a bit of chakra. He moved ever faster however after his first step; bursting forward into several steps. Each step was used to control his direction as he quickly dashed through the air. He elevated 5 meters from a single step after his first step; catching himself mid-air seamlessly finding his base. Letony then proceeded in the direction he was set to go; his black overcoat flapping menacingly in the frigid snow falling gracefully. He looked like a white hooded bat. He moved beyond his normal speed; quickly arriving to his first destination.
At this destination; it was just as the mission detailed. There were indeed civilians in distress because some polar bears, apparently got hungry for human flesh. There were ten bears. There was twenty people surrounded by these ferocious beasts. There were five children. There were ten males. There were five females. Five of the men were in their teens and judging by their appearance to Letony; lacked all sense of combat ability. Everything about this group annoyed Letony to a great extent. He was almost pissed. Certainly, these people were not worth his services. However, he had a job to do. Taking several relaxing steps to elevate to roughly fifteen meters above the encircled helpless. He activated his Genjutsu Field; a gift of his lineage. Letony lowered himself in small bursts; removing his base, then reapplying it a foot below, for his footing and a safe decline. He would of course brace himself each time for a smooth transition to the ground. Once he found footing on the ground; he aggressively began to force the civilians outside the range of the technique he planned to use. With some aggressive encouragement; the people began running. To Letony they better had been grateful he was around. This all occurs as the ten bears are completely stunned by the burst created from his air dash. Letony approached the epicenter of the bears, which was no bigger than ten meters. He gripped his hand into six meaningful signs. “Wind Release: Razor Band,” the man spoke with his slightly deep voice. Wind release formed around Letony’s body in a circle; forming a thin horizontal blade which launched outward from his physique like an expanding, proportionate circle. The blade contacted each bear simultaneously. It was hard to keep track of all the blood and guts spilling from each creature. Letony did not care about wildlife; he only cared about the aesthetic beauty of each creature simultaneously parting into two, but for some, multiple pieces. He grimaced. “Now on to real business.”
He shrugged continuing forward with his day. There was no need for clean up here; however, he did approach one of the dead creatures. For a moment he paused then crouched and reached for a section of fur along its mangled back. He did this careful to avoid any of the animal’s blood. Removing a Kunai with his right hand and reaching with his left; he quickly cut a small section of clean fur from the animal. He also cleaved a piece of hide with his attempt. He pocketed the newly acquired fur; then stood to full height. With a normal breath of air, he began forming more seals. After he completed his sequence, he turned toward the utterly shocked civilians. They were clearly scared. “I’m only going to ask this once and I want the truth. Has anyone seen a man traveling anywhere nearby? He couldn’t have gone far in this wilderness,”
For a moment there was silence; then a woman holding one of the children by her side spoke, “I remember a man. He was trying to sell us a scroll. We could tell he was shady, so we left him.”
“That’s all I need to know.”
Letony quickly ascertained the location of chakras four hundred and fifty meters in distance from his current position. He could easily discern the isolated and quite pitiful chakra of the man. There were no others around him for at least four hundred meters. Letony gauged his distance from this individual as well. His legs started moving in the direction of the chakra as he took steps on the snow covered ground. He would not allow anyone to see his full face at this moment. He would be covered in his flak hoodie throughout the entire ordeal. His overcoat and hood caught most of the snowflakes that slowly drifted to the ground at this moment, melting them into miniscule drops of water that cascade to the ground to once again form ice.
Once beyond the circle of bears; Letony decided to move more swiftly. He dashed through the air in several bursts; approaching his target at rapid speed. The moment he reached within range of his technique; he would unleash a second burst. The second ring was exactly as the first. He had to come within twenty five meters of the man; however, Letony was easily capable of doing this quietly enough. Afterall, the man was suffering from heavy fatigue, dehydration, and hypothermia. There was no question this would be quick and painless for the S-Ranked Konowari.
This attack ended up being a clean cut. His opponent was crouched with his head against his knee; having reached his wits end. It appeared Letony simply relieved the man of his suffering; at least in that moment. He deserved a far more gruesome death as far as Letony was concerned. He took a moment to muse over the corpse. Who would send someone to steal a scroll from Konowari? Or was this a simple theft. Random. Misguided. To Letony this did not matter. All that mattered was the scroll hanging from the departed lower section of the man’s body; which was crisp from the cold preservation. From his left pant pocket; Letony snatched the scroll and cursed the man, “Steal from the Konowari, you piece of shit. I’ll let the snow bury you,” he spoke coldly. He positioned himself toward the direction of the wooden house of his upbringing; then dashed in that direction.
He returned home; opening the notebook once again and checking off his accomplishments. Next.
