    [WC: 1243]
[Completing both: Find that thief and Polar Bear Attack]

Letony clinched his forehead between his palms; rubbing off the day’s frustration. He grimaced slighted as he quickly pulled the white hood of his flak over his short silver hair; displacing the palm used earlier for a new task. He glared through the endless snow that was Yukigakure through his brown eyes. They were intent on his surrounds. Letony’s thoughts transpired in fractions of seconds; deducing his next course of action. After hooding himself, he proceeded to a small notebook in his pocket. He removed the notebook and quickly glanced through the pages; skimming them. The notebook quickly retreated to his pocket and he was now in mission mode. There were a few small tasks that a man of his skill could execute swiftly. He would save the more challenging tasks toward the finish. His book read:

    Spoiler:

Letony stood in the doorway of the wooden cabin where calamity struck. From this position; there were three steps just below where he was standing. Behind Letony the cabin rest empty and void of life. In other words; drained. He creates hand seals the moment he pockets the book; forming three specific seals for a Konowari special. After completing the last seal; Letony was capable of simply walking forward from where he stood. He did this; seemingly walking on the air at the expense of a bit of chakra. He moved ever faster however after his first step; bursting forward into several steps. Each step was used to control his direction as he quickly dashed through the air. He elevated 5 meters from a single step after his first step; catching himself mid-air seamlessly finding his base. Letony then proceeded in the direction he was set to go; his black overcoat flapping menacingly in the frigid snow falling gracefully. He looked like a white hooded bat. He moved beyond his normal speed; quickly arriving to his first destination.

At this destination; it was just as the mission detailed. There were indeed civilians in distress because some polar bears, apparently got hungry for human flesh. There were ten bears. There was twenty people surrounded by these ferocious beasts. There were five children. There were ten males. There were five females. Five of the men were in their teens and judging by their appearance to Letony; lacked all sense of combat ability. Everything about this group annoyed Letony to a great extent. He was almost pissed. Certainly, these people were not worth his services. However, he had a job to do. Taking several relaxing steps to elevate to roughly fifteen meters above the encircled helpless. He activated his Genjutsu Field; a gift of his lineage. Letony lowered himself in small bursts; removing his base, then reapplying it a foot below, for his footing and a safe decline. He would of course brace himself each time for a smooth transition to the ground. Once he found footing on the ground; he aggressively began to force the civilians outside the range of the technique he planned to use. With some aggressive encouragement; the people began running. To Letony they better had been grateful he was around. This all occurs as the ten bears are completely stunned by the burst created from his air dash. Letony approached the epicenter of the bears, which was no bigger than ten meters. He gripped his hand into six meaningful signs. “Wind Release: Razor Band,” the man spoke with his slightly deep voice. Wind release formed around Letony’s body in a circle; forming a thin horizontal blade which launched outward from his physique like an expanding, proportionate circle. The blade contacted each bear simultaneously. It was hard to keep track of all the blood and guts spilling from each creature. Letony did not care about wildlife; he only cared about the aesthetic beauty of each creature simultaneously parting into two, but for some, multiple pieces. He grimaced. “Now on to real business.”

He shrugged continuing forward with his day. There was no need for clean up here; however, he did approach one of the dead creatures. For a moment he paused then crouched and reached for a section of fur along its mangled back. He did this careful to avoid any of the animal’s blood. Removing a Kunai with his right hand and reaching with his left; he quickly cut a small section of clean fur from the animal. He also cleaved a piece of hide with his attempt. He pocketed the newly acquired fur; then stood to full height. With a normal breath of air, he began forming more seals. After he completed his sequence, he turned toward the utterly shocked civilians. They were clearly scared. “I’m only going to ask this once and I want the truth. Has anyone seen a man traveling anywhere nearby? He couldn’t have gone far in this wilderness,”

For a moment there was silence; then a woman holding one of the children by her side spoke, “I remember a man. He was trying to sell us a scroll. We could tell he was shady, so we left him.”
“That’s all I need to know.”

Letony quickly ascertained the location of chakras four hundred and fifty meters in distance from his current position. He could easily discern the isolated and quite pitiful chakra of the man. There were no others around him for at least four hundred meters. Letony gauged his distance from this individual as well. His legs started moving in the direction of the chakra as he took steps on the snow covered ground. He would not allow anyone to see his full face at this moment. He would be covered in his flak hoodie throughout the entire ordeal. His overcoat and hood caught most of the snowflakes that slowly drifted to the ground at this moment, melting them into miniscule drops of water that cascade to the ground to once again form ice.

Once beyond the circle of bears; Letony decided to move more swiftly. He dashed through the air in several bursts; approaching his target at rapid speed. The moment he reached within range of his technique; he would unleash a second burst. The second ring was exactly as the first. He had to come within twenty five meters of the man; however, Letony was easily capable of doing this quietly enough. Afterall, the man was suffering from heavy fatigue, dehydration, and hypothermia. There was no question this would be quick and painless for the S-Ranked Konowari.

This attack ended up being a clean cut. His opponent was crouched with his head against his knee; having reached his wits end. It appeared Letony simply relieved the man of his suffering; at least in that moment. He deserved a far more gruesome death as far as Letony was concerned. He took a moment to muse over the corpse. Who would send someone to steal a scroll from Konowari? Or was this a simple theft. Random. Misguided. To Letony this did not matter. All that mattered was the scroll hanging from the departed lower section of the man’s body; which was crisp from the cold preservation. From his left pant pocket; Letony snatched the scroll and cursed the man, “Steal from the Konowari, you piece of shit. I’ll let the snow bury you,” he spoke coldly. He positioned himself toward the direction of the wooden house of his upbringing; then dashed in that direction.

He returned home; opening the notebook once again and checking off his accomplishments. Next.

    [Completing D-Rank: Find Me Smoke]
    [Replenishing Chakra to full]
    [WC: 616]
    Spoiler:
Letony quickly identified his next assignment on the page; as he swiftly taps through pages of the book. It was time to begin his quest. He was in search of any lingering members of the Konowari. Finding and regrouping these members was Letony’s goal. He would see to it that his mission was accomplish regardless of the circumstances. After a quick sweep of the area; Letony relented on his sensory skill; electing to simply stay aware of his surroundings. He listened intently for any sounds of movement around him; he also checks the windows every few seconds. He acted as his own guard dog. He would swiftly move to the kitchen; collected several food items and assembling them together. He swiftly concocted Ramen into a bowl mixed with a variety of meats. These meats were native animals of Yukigakure; hunted and slain for food. The noodles were however purchased separately. There was rabbit within this concoction. Letony ate while standing and gazing through the various windows which provided a clear frontal view of the cabin. He could see through the sides; however, from behind, his vision was obscured. He would routinely check this blind spot. It took him roughly ten minutes to finish his meal. He savors every bite; feeling his chakra replenish with each stroke of his chop sticks. Once finished, Letony tossed the bowl in the sink then proceeds toward the exit of the cabin. He felt a slow, precise swelling of anxiety momentarily clinch upward from his gut. He sighed harshly as the boost to his adrenaline subsided and he walked toward his next assignment. The snow cascaded far brisker now then earlier; tapping Letony’s overcoat and white hoodie at a heightened pace. Each small drop melted as quickly as it landed. The black overcoat would flap viciously in the wind as Letony proceeded. His hoodie was still covering his head. He used it to block most of the snow currently falling, as he moved toward his next destination.

As he traveled; Letony noticed a gang of less than attractive looking individuals. Judging them based on their appearance; they were clearly gangsters or thieves of some kind. Letony made it his business to engage this gang all at once. “You guys look like you mean business. I’m looking to expand my horizons. I need dope. Not medicine. Dope. Cannabis,” Letony spoke slightly annoyed. He felt like he had to explain himself beyond the norm for these individuals to comprehend. “We got what you’re looking for. But how do we know you’re not a snitch,” one of the men spoke cockily.

Letony quickly unleashed his Taijutsu prowess; firing his left fist, then right subsequently into a combo. One. Two. The first jab landed hard because of Letony’s strength; knocking the man backwards slightly and setting up the second strike. This was a straight punch with power greater than a simple jab. The jab lowered his opponent’s already non-existent guard; and set up a knockout with the straight right directly to his forehead. Letony mused over the unconscious man’s lifeless body. “You can tell the authorities that I killed someone. How about that?”

    “Works for us.”

The man escorted Letony into a secluded room full of pounds of vacuum sealed cannabis. Letony immediately ripped plastic from a pound and retrieved his prize. He would steal this cannabis right in the man’s face. “I take it. You don’t need money for this?” Letony glared as though he would kill the man next.

    “You’re a shinobi. I couldn’t stop you.”

Letony rolled his eyes and proceeded toward the exit; leaving the confinement of the secluded room. He stood outside once again; simply watching and waiting for his next decisive action.

[Completing B-Rank: Assemble the Konowari (1/2)]
    [WC: 461]

Standing in the cold now alone; Letony began walking in the direction of the village center. He was still at least five kilometers out and several more than that from the gates. He kept his being quiet as he took large steps through the now settled snow that slowly drifted instead. The wind stilled; causing his coat to rest along the outskirts of his physique as he walked. He watched his surroundings with an intense eye; scanning all directions from moment to moment. Letony kept walking until he reached the nearest person in sight.

He approached a heavily cloaked figure; hooded and gloomy. This man was entirely covered in black; and the black hood revealed slightly brown skin. Letony stood five meters from the man; his face hardened to ensure this man knew he meant business. Letony spoke, “I am a shinobi of the Konowari clan. I am searching for my brethren. I only want useful responses. You may speak now.”

The man stood silent for a moment; deciding to pause. Letony would immediately extend his left arm forward directly into the man’s nose so suddenly; it broke it. This was a quick jab accomplish by extending the left side of his upper body and quickly swiveling back with his right leg one step; whilst pivoting off the left. He used his forward extension to ensure range for a counterstrike was not possible; meaning to follow up with another strike of his own. Letony would decline throwing another punch; electing to hop backward from his extended momentum. The cloaked man fell backward clinching his nose tight with his left arm; which was also draped in his oversized cloak. Letony watched the blood slowly trickle between the man’s phalanges. The man looked especially pitiful; but not completely shocked. “I’m sorry for my arrogance,” the cloaked man spoke.

“Apologize again; and the next one will kill you,” Letony became impatient.

“I don’t know of this clan you speak of. I do, however, know about a group of Wind Release users in Yukigakure who have been going around saying their part of some ancient clan. I don’t know any more than that.”

Letony didn’t know whether to feel pleased by the man’s words or to feel anger at the lack of details. He would get to the bottom of this. This information provided by the cloaked man was insubstantial and as such he would press onward until more people crossed his path. His current location was interesting, however. There was a single three story building located in the middle of nowhere. The cloaked man stood alongside it as though to stand guard. Letony momentarily pondered if there was hidden treasure to found inside. He let this muse die out and would continue his mission.

[Completing B-Rank: Assemble the Konowari (2/2)]
    [WC: 803]
    Spoiler:
Moving through the heat would be the direct reverse of what Letony currently maneuvered through. Acid-like drops of molten rock falling capriciously in his psyche as his foot seemingly collapsed piles of ash with each step. An orange sky, and ash clouds would complete the stage in Letony’s mind. Along with a cataclysmic explosion of molten rock and ash. The moon was black; darkened to meet the surroundings. The heatwaves intensely covering the breathing passageways as he meanders forward; which were waves of stiflingly cold air. The molten rock and ash being the small drops of solid matter which glide about the air in clouds and separate entities to coalesce on the ground together in a single great pile of snow. The orange sky was in fact a blueish white one. The ash clouds were simply precipitated miniscule bits of ice. Letony’s foot contacted the snow on the ground; collapsing into piles with each step.

Letony was now closer toward the village center. It was apparent by his surroundings; considering there were vast throngs of people all around him now. There were lights, buildings of various degree, and several amusement opportunities. He could smell the food cooking; of course, it would require a price. Letony was too busy to eat right this moment. He had his mind set on a specific task; taking extremely calculated steps and maneuvers until he could elevate himself to a higher point. This was to gain a visual range advantage via his natural sight. He would create hand signs to scale a three story building in very few steps using his air dash. Utilizing a Konowari technique; the man finally made it to the top of the building. He would peer downward at the throngs; contemplating all the activity that occurred below. Specifically, he was looking for any shinobi.

Letony’s head would be covered in his flak’s hoodie the entire time; even before he arrived. This was to keep most of his face obscured so that people didn’t know who he was. This was a common tactic for any shinobi. His white flak jacket clung to his body tightly; acting as a compression sportswear. He felt extremely secure with it on. Letony’s black cloak still draped his physique to the ground. Activity initiated below and Letony observed intently.

“I don’t have your money,” a drunk man spoke to another cloaked man like the one before.

“You stole it. I know you did,” the cloaked figure replied; standing roughly six feet tall. He was slightly taller than the five foot eight drunken individual.

“I don’t even know you at all. This is my first time ever meeting you,” the smaller male replied.

“I know,” the cloaked man created some hand seals. He was standing just five meters in front of the drunken bastard.  Tiger, Ram, Tiger, Ram, Horse, Rat

After completing the quick sequence Letony’s eyes widened significantly. “That’s,” Letony spoke quietly to himself. “I know those seals. Only Konowari should know those seals.”

Just as Letony finished musing to himself; the cloaked man created a barrier around the drunken man; tailored specifically to his physique however, remaining completely cylindrical in form. Just as it formed the cloaked man leapt backward through the air; clearing the range of the technique.

“Now die,” The cloaked man stated as he landed from a backflip which prevented what was to come next. The barrier exploded violently into wind blades. Letony was too far for this technique to reach him; too elevated and hidden. He was taken aback by the sudden usage of his clan’s technique right before his eyes.

“I’ll take care of this,” Letony spoke after witnessing the result of rapidly released compressed wind. He rapidly dashed as to catch the cloaked man off guard following the results of his attack. Letony quickly used his air dash to lower himself; using short pads of compressed wind like stepping stones toward the ground. This happened faster than you would imaging though because with each step Letony could cover at least twenty meters in distance. His overall speed was increased to at least the fourth tier; so, when he appeared behind the cloaked man; it was easy for him to land a series of devastating Taijutsu punches to the back of the head. This would momentarily incapacitate him long enough for Letony to speak. “Are you Konowari,” Letony spoke then continued, “are there others with you?”

The cloaked man took a few moments to recover from the blows before turning to face Letony. “I am Konowari. There remains three of us in this village and judging by that technique you used to get behind me. You’re Konowari too eh?”

“I am,” Letony mused. The both would relax and find a quiet place to chill and discuss the current climate of the Konowari. Mission accomplished.

    [Exit.]
