Description: This technique is a specialty of Kirigakure ninja. Users fill the air with mist and control its thickness with their chakra. Once the mists are thick enough that opponents cannot see, that in turn means they cannot manage much defence against the user. Various users used this technique to perform assassinations; although they also could not see within the mists, they were able to locate their targets based only on the sounds they made. The mists can be created using water from the surroundings, or users can create the mists themselves, which they exhale from their mouths. If the mists are made thick enough, they can cancel out the enhanced vision of the Sharingan and Rinnegan. Sensors and Byakugan users can still see through the mists, however.

Description: Using water from the surroundings, the user creates one or more copies of themselves. Unlike the standard Clone Technique, these water clones are physically real, allowing them to interact with others and even perform the same jutsu as the user. Although a single water clone can be quite challenging to a standard genin, water clones only have about a tenth of their user's strength. When a water clone is sufficiently damaged, it will revert back into water. Water clones cannot travel too far from their user's location, meaning that running away is a viable option against them. This aside, water clones are useful as support and diversions. The clones can even be used as mobile bodies of water, through which the user can perform their other water-based jutsu; when this is done, the user will need to perform the necessary hand seals. Water clones have 120 speed, strength and endurance. They can use up to C-rank water release techniques. And their jutsus are taken from the user's chakra pool. Clones are formed at 220 speed, can travel up to 30 meters. With the aide of a nearby water source, they can travel an extra 50 meters away.

Description:The user expels high-viscosity, chakra-infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few meters, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channeling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand. The syrup can be manipulated to move after it is created, being able to stick and travel up surfaces. -130 to opponents speed while caught by the jutsu. Opponents with equal or superior strength to Jutsu power can move normally.

Because of the viscosity of the water, it is even more difficult for them to escape its confines. Water is gathered at 200 speed and is spat at the same speed. Those with strength equal to or above the jutsu power can escape it hold.

Description: This technique traps a target in a sphere of water; the water can either be drawn from the surroundings or expelled from the user's mouth. The water that the sphere is made from is noticeably heavy, which restricts the target's movements and can make breathing difficult. As such, those trapped within the water prison cannot ordinarily escape on their own. Neji Hyūga was able to free himself by simultaneously releasing chakra from all of his tenketsu, destroying the prison. In Akatsuki Hiden, Kisame Hoshigaki escaped by increasing the volume of water within the prison beyond what it could contain, causing it to burst. In order to maintain the prison, users must stay in contact with the sphere, typically by keeping an arm submerged within it. For this reason, water clones can be used in combination with water prisons, either by having the water clone attack other targets while the user maintains the prison, or by having the clones themselves form the prisons, leaving the user free to act. In cases where a water clone forms the water prison, the water of the clone's body can be used as a source for the prison. In the anime, a more advanced usage of this technique makes contact not necessary, allowing users to trap targets from a distance. The water prison's usefulness has caused it to be adapted for other purposes. It can be stored in scrolls, trapping anyone who tries to read their contents without permission, though these prisons don't place as much of a restriction on the victim's movements. Alternatively, users can confine themselves within a water prison, thus preventing opponents from reaching them.

The size is dependent on how much water the user can store in their body. The larger the user the more water they can amass in their gullet. This causes an increase in the amount of water produced. This is seen when Gamabunta uses the technique against Shukaku in the anime. LSS/GSS summons can produce this same effect. Technique gains +100 to speed and power.
