|| The Mamōru clan was a minuscule yet powerful unit that was highly respected by its neighboring allies due to its unique harness of Shōton: Crystal Release. The founder—Byrōn Mamōru—was a man of sapience and power, fully aware of how essential it was to forge civil relationships with local leaders and other influential subjects in order to preserve his clan's creation. Due to its bizarre yet intriguing—and advantageous—Kekke Genkai, it soon gained an allegiance with the Uzumaki clan within The Land of Fire, displaying divine honor and devotion toward the newfound ally. Those within the Mamōru clan valued the proper standards of one's behavior, often expounding the utmost principles in life under the order of Byrōn; he was a man who shared peace in pursuance of avoiding antagonism and extinction, desiring nothing more but to expand in a world of beautiful optimism. For a century, the Mamōrus lived just as the founder had hoped for, even after his life was put to rest. Unfortunately, peace was no longer in the grasp of the crystal manipulators once a new individual stepped up to lead—Tsugakune Mamōru, the great grandson of Byrōn.

The Kekke Genkai associated with the Mamoru clan could only be obtained through a random selection amongst its members; it was not genetically guaranteed to those born within the clan. As a result of being in the unfortunate pool of the Kekke Genkai-less, Tsugakune envied those who required the supreme element, and deceitfully formed an accumulation of outsiders who held great abhorrence against the powerful users. These chosen individuals were masters of a specific affinity, one that Shōton was susceptible to: Raiton. To persuade the fiends, Tsugakune had executed success through his keen ability of manipulation, promising retrieval of the Kekke Genkai. This false promise was unknown to the outsiders, for Shōton—like most Kekke Genkai—could not be taught to or copied by others. Shortly after his appointment of leadership, the great grandson of Byrōn retaliated by ambushing the clan he governed alongside his chosen suitors, annihilating each and every Mamōru to the extremity of extinction.

The whereabouts of Tsugakune remain unknown post massacre. For years, many rumors formulated. Some claim that he was captured and killed by those who aided in the extinction of his own kind after the discovery of his broken promise. Others say that he migrated to The Land of Lightning to pose as a farmer, shielding his identity through the normalcy of an ordinary family man with a wife and two daughters.

Description:

Description: By swiftly enveloping any limb amongst the body with the solidification of crystals, this technique benefits the user by improving their defence against offensive techniques due to its endurance of four-hundred [ 400 ]. For every twelve [ 12 ] inches of the body that the armor sheaths, it will cost five [ 5 ] chakra per foot; this protective armor can cover great lengths of the body under a short amount of time due to its speed of four-hundred [ 400 ]. If the user comes in contact upon a second party member whilst activating Crystal Armor, the armor itself can expand and sheath the second person. This technique can be discarded if the opponent utilizes physical techniques of Katon, Raiton, or ultrasonic sound waves. The crystal is transparent and can only be noticed by light reflecting off it.

Description: Crimson Fruit is a Shōton technique that constructs a lotus-shaped dome of crystal to surround a target in the means of protection. The user must fall within zero to ten meters [ 0 - 10 ] of the selected individual that they choose to encase. Upon encasing the victim, a large pool of white light will immediately appear beneath the feet of the captive, reaching approximately eight feet in length; due to its speed of four-hundred [ 400 ] the target's body can be engulfed almost immediately. From the luminous pool will emerge a towering crystal that will soon envelope the being, shielding them behind protective walls; within the crystal the chosen captive will have little room to move about, and can be proactive due to not being immobilized. A crimson dome can reach a maximum height of seven [ 7 ] feet, but will depend on the target's height; the shorter the target, the lesser the height. Due to its endurance of four-hundred [ 400 ], Crimson Fruit is highly durable from both external and internal attacks. Due to its objective to protect, there will be a twenty-five [ 25 ] upkeep per post to maintain it.

Gradually, longer shards of twelve [ 12 ] inches will form upon the bicep area, soon expanding into a singular blade that is roughly six [ 6 ] feet long. Description: A technique that is mostly utilized to imprison multiple individuals at once, Crystal Pentagonal Prison allows the user to completely encase their opponents in gigantic pillars of crystal. The height and width of these pillars are determined by the measurements of the captives; this technique can imprison objects as tall as forty [ 40 ] meters. This technique can only consume bodies that fall within zero [ 0 ] to ten [ 10 ] meters of the user. If caught within the prison, the human(s) or animal(s) can be crystallized down to their cellular level; this can imprison the target(s)—so long as the crystals are in place—and if shattered whilst the being remains within, it will lead to the shattering of the crystallized captive. If any captive of the technique is removed safely from the prison by the user, the opponent will be covered with wounds that bring a discoloration to the skin, resembling something similar to frostbite. For every post that the opponents are held within a Pentagonal Prison, it will cost fifty [ 50 ] chakra to maintain per post due to the high number (more than one) of captives.

Description: Crystal Wheel can be beneficial in means of travel. Description: Growing Crystal Thorns is a technique where the user can summon crystalline thorns from the ground (or water surface) that the user can manipulate to continuously grow towards their target's direction. These structures appear similar to slim tree trunks; upon expansion as they continuously multiply to persuade a target, chunks of crystal will branch off one another and extend outward like thorns. Each thorn can branch out eight [ 8 ] feet in length, each containing a sturdy trunk; once it has reached the maximum length, another thorn will birth from the surface of the other maxed out thorn and continue to grow towards the opponent. The girth of each thorn is randomized; some contain the diameter of eight [ 8 ] inches whilst others twelve [ 12 ] to fifteen [ 15 ] inches. This technique can reach as high as fifteen [ 15 ] meters into the sky, and if the crystallized structures are able to capture the opponent, the thorns can impale them due to the momentum utilized.

Description: With this technique, the user can swiftly form a blade made of topazion crystal on his or her forearm, and use it in a manner reminiscent of a tantō. If needed, crystal blades can be formed on both arms. After performing the proper handseals, a gaping portal of illuminating white will appear just before the user's being; this portal is thirteen [ 13 ] inches in diameter. The user will then drive their hand and forearm through the anterior view of the unknown portal; as the arm maneuvers through it and comes out of the posterior end, the user's forearm will be equipped by a tantō-like blade that is accumulated out of topaz, and the portal will dissipate. Due to the nature of Shōton having a high endurance (this technique has an endurance of three-hundred [ 300 ]), the blade can last up to four [ 4 ] posts before becoming brittle and shattering upon final impact.

Description: With this technique, the user must first create about one-hundred [ 100 ] to two-hundred [ 200 ] crystalline carnations; this can be achieved by sending out a wave of chakra to veil the desired area, which will be an additional cost of ten [ 10 ] chakra. Due to its speed of four-hundred fifty [ 450 ] the vast ocean of crystalline carnations can rapidly engulf a large area—capable of expanding as far as zero [ 0] to twenty [ 20 ] meters. From here, the user can grow these flowers into a gigantic labyrinth consisting of golden crystals. This is possible due to the fusion of each crystalline carnation; much like the mechanism of phototropism in true flowers—what causes the growing parts of a plant to orient toward the sun—each crystal will be attracted to its neighboring flower and merge into it, amplifying the field of crystals into a massive labyrinth. Those who finds themselves trapped within it can become lost due to the reflective nature of the crystals; this mirroring ability allows the surfaces to copy the enemy's personal image, as well as generate mirror images of the routes, paths, and details within the labyrinth. For every three posts, there will need to be an upkeep of fifty [ 50 ] chakra to maintain this technique.

| Due to its reflective nature, not only can this labyrinth confuse generic enemies, but also users of dōjutsu techniques. An ability utilized by the eyes will not deem very effective.

| Because of the crystal's stable molecular structure, a simple attack focused at one point is rendered useless, and its wide surface will disperse the force of wide range attacks, reducing their effectiveness. To overcome this technique, an attack that has impact force both wide and powerful is required to smash through it.

Description: This technique, which seems to be a minor version of the Crystal Pentagonal Prison due to its shortened range of zero [ 0 ] to five [ 5 ] meters, allows the user to completely encase a single desired target—unlike Crystal Pentagonal Prison, which can encase several enemies at once—within a crystallized structure. This prison can reach the heights of eight [ 8 ] feet, and within the prison the captured enemy is immobile due to being crystallized. If the crystal containing the target is shattered upon forceful contact by a Raiton / Katon technique with a power stat equal to or above the given endurance [ 600 ], the victim within, along with the shattered particles, will disintegrate. For each post that a captive is held within a prison, it will require the cost of twenty [ 20 ] chakra to maintain it.

| This technique can be countered if the enemy is able to surround their body with chakra before being entirely encased, thereby avoiding the disintegration effect due to Shōton being incapable of crystallizing raw energy. Therefore this technique has no effect on Chakra.

Description: With the Shuriken Wild Dance technique, the user is able to launch crystalline shurikens down upon enemies from a higher setting (the sky). Due to this technique requiring the user to be suspended in mid-air—to achieve a longer shooting range—the user must project their body upward into the sky anywhere from ten [ 10 ] to fifteen [ 15 ] meters from the ground. After the user's body is in mid-air, their hands will clash together in formation of the RAM—MONKEY seal. Upon stating the name of the technique, the body itself will become suspended as crystallized particles abruptly appear in a swirling formation of a double helix around them (costing sixty-two [ 62 ] chakra), encasing the user behind an emitting light of topaz. Each crystal will then maneuver around the body with an impressive rate of motion due to its speed stat of four-hundred fifty [ 450 ], soon morphing into copious amounts of crystallized shuriken that continuously revolve around the user. From there, the user will direct their hands at the chosen target; by doing so, an overwhelming shower of illuminating shurikens will violently lurch toward the opponent, a myriad of blades raining down upon the desired area. This showering wave of razored shurikens can shoot as far as forty [ 40 ] meters. Due to its upkeep of thirty [ 30 ] chakra per post, the amount of shruikens used is not limited, but the technique can only last for three [ 3 ] posts.

Description: As a technique utilized for the means of scouting and/or tracking a designated target, the user will summon a crystal ball that is roughly twenty-two [ 22 ] centimeters (when converted, 8.65 inches) in diameter, and seventy [ 70 ] centimeters in circumference. This crystallized ball will then be utilized to track a specific individual anywhere they are, or to gather intel. In order to achieve this connection to the designated target, there is a restriction in regards to the individual that is subjected to pursuit: the user must be aquatinted with the individual's chakra pattern. If not, the crystalline ball will be incapable of confirming the target's position. This jutsu is infallible for intelligence purposes, therefore the Yumekage [ Tifa ] uses it to maintain public order in Yumegakure.
